I honestly don't know where to start.
Maybe I should start with my intentions and what I'm looking to accomplish
here on Pro Wrestling Legacy. Well for starters I created this blog because
I wanted to really get into the whole predicting pay-per-views niche because
I wanted to get some practice in before I start my yearlong pooling
tournament in 2017. It's going to be a yearlong deal with whoever having the
best record at the end of the calendar year gets the pot of money we all put
into. That's something I'm really excited for and I need to brush up on my
skills before that time comes. I also feel if I can explain my arguments
well enough for each winner of each match that I can show you awesome
wrestling lovers my thought process and that I've watched enough wrestling
to come off as someone who knows a little something about something. I mean
that's going to be sometime down the road, but I'm excited to put the
practice in.
Also, I write a lot of original think pieces on various issues within the
spectrum of wrestling as a whole. While I may only predict WWE related
pay-per-views, I'm going to try and write about my feelings toward
situations in other promotions as well. It might be as frequent as one would
think, but it's going to be quite enough. I watch Pro Wrestling Guerrilla a
lot and some matches from the likes of Lucha Underground and Ring of Honor.
I try and watch TNA the best I can but the product isn't like it used to be
when the top guys who are all in WWE now were there. I'm not above watching
and talking about it, but I'm going to need some kind of cosign or
motivation to do so.
(I'm still rooting for you though TNA ..)
I wrote a piece here and there, with one making it to my actual main blog, (Fall
ofA Living Legend). It was well received so I started looking
for places to spread my wings into the realm of writing about wrestling
since I love it. That led me to Lords of Pain Forums and I got a chance to
read a lot of great columns there. While I've written some good columns,
(and some not so great ones), I'm starting to feel good about what I'm
writing about. I aim on doing more than just writing about the things are in
the news now about wrestling, opting to write posts more along the lines of
being described as think pieces. But as I said before the main reason for
starting this blog is for the pay-per-view predictions themselves.
In addition to writing predictions I'm going to write reviews on each show I
predict; it's only right. But hopefully there will also be some guest posts
here on the blog because there are some really talented folks out there who
love wrestling a lot. It seems as though between the LOP Forums and twitter
where folks abuse the hell out of hashtags when it comes to big events, you
can never run out of interesting things to talk about. But as I said before
the bottom line is to predict and review pay-per-views and write and post at
the high volume I know I can produce. I'm eyeing some other things related
to the blog but I don't really talk about goals and plans for things in the
event they fall out. So, keep an eye out for any special announcement that
may come from me.
This is just fun for me and I hope you all enjoy this ride with me; however
long that may be.
